Ideal Tyson, a 2 year old colt  ( American Ideal - Shezacullen ) won at Bunbury WA on Tuesday January 27, that's his third win from 3 starts.  A $1.40 favourite he began from Barrier 7, raced 4 and then 3 wide before finding the lead and winning by 3.30 metres.  it was an impressive performance .

Yankee Rockstar ( Aston Villa ) won the Graeme Head Memorial Pace at Shepparton on Saturday January 24.  Graeme and Helen Head have made a significant contribution to the Victorian breeding industry over many years and it was an honour to win Graeme's memorial race. 
Gavin Lang was able to get Yankee Rockstar off the rail early and worked around 3 wide into the death. It was the "ice man " at his best in the straight with the Rockstar prevailing by a half neck. The last half was a very quick 55.1, running a new track record 1.54.1. He has now had 17 starts 13 wins 1 second and 2 thirds. 
Rocknroll Music  ( Lindsey Leigh ) put in another creditable performance at Geelong on January 25. He stepped up in class and was beaten a head by Keayang Starzzz over the 2100 metres in 1.58.7. He has had 12 starts for 5 wins and 2 seconds. He has now joined the stable of Adam Kelly. 

DAILY DOUBLE

The Court Jester ( Life Sign - Rigaleto Franco ) made a winning return to the track at Gloucester Park WA on Friday January 23 for the Gary Hall stable. It was his first start since June 2014 and he scored impressively by 5.90 metres in 1.58.5. His record is now 10 starts for 6 wins.

Follow The Stars ( Art Major - Smyrna Duruisseau )  coasted to victory at Tabcorp Park Melton , making it a double for Lauriston Breeding. Driven by Chris Alford he was untroubled to win by 6.60 metres and will now head to the Victorian Derby heats next week. 

TWO FOR TWO

Ideal Tyson ( Shezacullen ) made it two for two in winning the Premier Hotel 2 year old pace at Pinjarra WA on January 19 by 1.5 metres. 
Also in WA , The Court Jester  ( Rigaleto Franco ) made a welcome return in winning his trial for the Gary Hall stable. 

ROCKIN N ROLLIN

Lauriston bred and owned horses had a day out on Thursday January 15 , as did the wonderful sire Rocknroll Hanover.
Yankee Rockstar ( Aston Villa )  started the ball rolling at Maryborough when he led from start to finish over 1690 metres winning untouched by 2.4 metres in 1.57.9.
Later that evening at Kilmore ,Rocknroll Music ( Lindsey Leigh ) also led from start to finish in a mile rate of 1.56.8 , winning by 11.6 metres . Having only his 11th start he has an impressive record of 5 wins and 1 second. 
Both winners are by Rocknroll Hanover from Artsplace mares and Rocknroll Music has 2 relations in the APG Melbourne Sale. Lot 123 Somebeachsomewhere colt from My Jackie Leigh and Lot 181 Rocknroll Hanover colt from Sugarland. Both mares are Half sisters to Rocknroll Music. 

ANOTHER TWO YEAR OLD WINNER

Lauriston produced another two year old winner today at Pinjarra WA. After winning his two trial starts Ideal Tyson ( American Ideal - Shezacullen ) won at his first two year old race start. He paced the 1684 metres in 2.00.9 last half 28.5. He is very green and it was only when he noticed another horse on his outside that he began to race . He will be much improved by the run and has 3 year old written all over him. To his credit he is now a 2 year old winner. He is the second foal of Shezacullen and joins Artistic Angel as a 2 year old winner from the mare. 
Ideal Tyson was purchased at the APG Melbourne Sale in 2014 for $24,000. Congratulations to the buyer Gary Elson who is also the trainer. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you again in Melbourne on February 1. Our 8 colts this year are looking super ; photos will be posted soon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Yankee Rockstar ( Aston Villa ) started the New Year on a winning note at Geelong. He won the James and Son Pace over 2100 metres in a time of 1.58.1 , last half 57.9 after coming from last and finishing over the top of them after making a long sustained , 4 wide run. Despite being inconvenienced  he won  by 11.2 metres with his head on his chest.  As usual Gavin Lang was in the bike and The Rockstar was turned out in superb condition by Emma Stewart and Clayton Tonkin. He is raced in partnership by the Peter Tonkin Racing Syndicate and Lauriston Bloodstock. 
With a bit of luck 2015 may be his year, as he has only had 15 starts for 11-1-2 and $83,503.
