Ladies In Red made it 3 wins from 3 starts in the Vicbred Platinum Final for 2 year old fillies on Saturday night. David Moran was left with no option but to go back after the filly drew 10. She sprinted quickly 3 wide to be with the leaders on the turn and won in Track Record Time of 1.51.9. She was officially timed to run her last 800 in 53.59 and last 400 in 26.62. Beach Music sprinted quickly when she found a clear run to finish a close third beaten a HFNK. Her last 800 was an impressive 54.26 and last 400 26.50. The Tatlow, Breeders Crown and Vicbred Super Series are yet to come.

Two year old fillies Ladies In Red and Beach Music dominated their Platinum Homegrown Classic Heats. Ladies In Red ( Mach 3 -Kabbalah Karen B ) led all the way to win effortlessly by 17.5 metres in a Track Record Time of 1.52.9 driven by Kate Gath. Thats 2 wins from 2 starts. Beach Music ( Somebeachsomewhere- Musical Delight ) was having her first start and raced outside the leader for the entire journey, winning by 3.6 metres in 1.56.3. Tayla will be improved by the run. She was driven by Amanda Turnbull. Both fillies are trained by Emma Stewart. Honolua Bay completed the treble for Lauriston, also taking his record to 3/3. Trained by David Aiken and driven by Josh, he led all the way and was never out of second gear winning by 4.8 metres. He is at the farm for 7 days prior to the upcoming Breeders Crown and Vicbred heats. |
