HISTORIC APG DOUBLE

6/5/2014

The Australian Pacing Gold Race Series for 2 year old pacers was first held in conjuction with the yearling sales in 1991.
Since its inception 23 years ago no breeder has bred both the winners of the colts and fillies Finals in the same year.
Lauriston Bloodstock achieved that feat  when we produced the winners of both Finals of the Australian Pacing Gold Series in 2014.
Queen Of Pop  ( Top Tempo ) was victorious in the fillies Final at Menangle on April 27 and Follow The Stars ( Smyrna Duruisseau ) made it a breeding double with his win at Tabcorp Park Melton on May 2 . It is a result that we are justifiably proud of.

APG FINAL TO follow the stars - Group 1

6/5/2014

Follow The Stars made a clean sweep of the Australian Pacing Gold Race Series winning his heat semi-final and Final in effortless fashion . The son of Art Major and Smyrna Duruisseau is now unbeaten in 6 starts , has a best time of 1.53.8 and earnings of $251,477.
In winning the Final he established a new Australasian 2 year old record of 1.54.1 for the 1720 metres winning by 13.6 metres after sitting in the death for the trip.
His efforts have earned him recognition as one of the best two year olds seen in this part of the world. He will now return to NZ to contest the Harness Jewels on May 31 and return to Melbourne for the Breeders Crown in August.
