6/5/2014

Follow The Stars made a clean sweep of the Australian Pacing Gold Race Series winning his heat semi-final and Final in effortless fashion . The son of Art Major and Smyrna Duruisseau is now unbeaten in 6 starts , has a best time of 1.53.8 and earnings of $251,477.
In winning the Final he established a new Australasian 2 year old record of 1.54.1 for the 1720 metres winning by 13.6 metres after sitting in the death for the trip.

APG FILLIES FINAL - group 1.

28/4/2014

Our three two year old fillies performed very well at Menangle on Sunday April 27. Artistic Angel ( Shezacullen ) was in the Consolation and despite meeting with interference finished the race off resolutely to finish third.  She will be further improved by her trip away.
Two fillies contested the Final;  the unbeaten Rosie OReilly ( Limerick Star ) and Queen Of Pop ( Top Tempo ) . Rosie OReilly led from barrier 5 with the favourite Supersonic Miss on her back. Queen of Pop settled one out one back from 4 but was pushed back 2 places in the running line as Our Awesome Girl and Bamako Mali circled the field. Chris Alford pulled out 3 wide on Queen Of Pop at the 600 and she was pushed 4 wide on the turn , yet she continued to come at the leaders ,winning by a half neck in 1.57.4. It was a performance full of merit.
Rosie OReilly raced roughly for a stride or two coming into the straight and appeared to slightly choke down but finished off the race in 5th placing. Her performance during the Series has been impressive and she appears to have a bright future. All three will now have a short let up to recover from their first trip away from home.

HEEZ A GUN !

7/3/2014

Two year old colt Follow The Stars ( Art Major - Smyrna Duruisseau ) won the final of the Breckon Young Guns  (Group 1  ) @ Alexandra Park NZ on Friday March 7. His record now stands at 3 wins from 3 starts.
He drew Barrier 8 , outside the front row and was caught 4 wide early. Mark Purdon waited patiently until the leaders backed off the speed and Follow The Stars sprinted hard to take the lead and was never headed. He won by 3 and a half lengths in 1.56.3.
His Group 1 win has enhanced the breeding career of his dam ; Smyrna Duruisseau , an imported Cam's Card Shark mare . He is only her second foal and it is a great achievement for a young mare to leave a Group 1 winner early in her breeding career.
She hails from the great  producing family of Shy Ann  and has an American Ideal filly at foot and is in foal to Sportswriter.
