Our orphan foal Bolt ( Rocknroll Icon ) made a memorable start to his career with a first up win at Terang on August 30. He was born to a surrogate mare who died whilst foaling.
Driven by Chris Alford from barrier 8 over the 1680 metres Rocknroll Icon was held back from the barrier to find a spot in the running line , from there he circled the field and challenged for the lead with a lap to go. It was on for young and old with the leader Jilliby Road Runner attempting to hold the lead. Quarters of 30.9 , 27.6 , 27.1 , and 28.4 resulted in a track record mile rate for 2 year olds of 1.54.2. beating the previous record by 3.6 seconds. Rocknroll Icon was too strong and went on to win by 17.2 metres with 58.8 metres between second and third. Emma Stewart trained Rocknroll Icon after he qualified for farm manager Geoff Walker.
Rocknroll Icon is the first foal of the very good mare National Gallery ( Artsplace - Lils Dream ) 1.54.4  $90,600. Her second foal a Mach 3 colt sold to Mark Purdon for $52,000 at last years APG sale.

Our Little General ( Mach 3 - Kabbalah Karen B ) ruled the Group One Breeders Crown Series for 2 year old colts and geldings winning both his heat and semi final before taking out the $280,000 final on Super Sunday.
Chris Alford produced a great drive from Barrier 7 to have Our Little General one out one back soon after the start. He was forced to make a move a lap out and The General took the lead. He was never headed and ran out a 4.9 metre winner in 1.55.2 for the 2240m .
The Little General's season has been one renowned for grit and determination , often drawing badly in the big ones.He has thrived on racing and continually improved throughout the year. He had his first start on February 6 and was still going strong on August 28. He finished with a seasonal total of 13 starts 8 wins 4 seconds and earnings of $244,305.His performance caps off a great training effort by Emma Stewart.
Our Little General is the second foal of the Western Terror mare Kabbalah Karen B who was purchased at Harrisburg in 2010 by Lauriston.
