A tenacious run from the warrior Our Little General saw him victorious in the $195,000 Breeders Crown Final for 3 year old Colts and Geldings.
His form was patchy coming into the series , however a strong third in his BC Heat at Bendigo signalled a return to form. He followed that up with a win in his semi -final and went into the Final fit and healthy. He worked to be in the running line from Barrier 3 and an opportunity presented itself when the favourite galloped. The General was good enough to take advantage of that and went on to grab the leader Jilliby Kung Fu on the line to win by a HD. It was the fastest time of the day; 1.54 over 2240.
It was a wonderful win , displaying all of his characteristics; strength, determination, staying power, and speed.
He has now won 3 GROUP 1's , including back to back Breeders Crowns and a Derby.
Emma and Clayton deserve all the credit for having him back to his best on the day and Chris Alford is the man you want in the cart in the big races.

Barrier 9 did Poster Boy no favours and he worked hard early to find the postion outside the leader then obtained cover. He raced up to the leader in the straight but the effort took its toll. He ran the fastest lead time and the fastest last quarter of the race and lost no admirers.
