Lauriston was represented by 3 two year old fillies in the APG Heats. Artistic Angel ( Art Major - Shezacullen ) performed very well at her first race start for Danny Thackeray finishing third in her heat.
Next up were Rosie OReilly ( Art Major - Limerick Star ) and Queen Of Pop ( Art Major - Top Tempo ) . Rosie OReilly began brilliantly from Barrier 2 and led all the way to record an easy win by 23 metres over Queen Of Pop who was 3 back the rail and didn't get a clear run until late. This was Rosie's first start and she was most impressive. She is trained at the farm by Danny Thackeray whilst Queen Of Pop is already a winner trained by Gary Quinlan.
Rosie OReilly was offered for sale as a yearling at the APG Sales but came home when the bidding stopped at $ 18,000. She is the first foal of a race winning half sister to National Gallery and traces to the great mare Armalight.
Best of luck to the 3 girls as they head up the highway to Menangle for the semi finals on April 19.
