The Oaks Barrier Draw saw Beach Music in Barrier 3 and Ladies In Red again fare badly in a Group1 race with Barrier 10. Both were forced to work outside the leader at various stages of the race. The best filly in the race prevailed with Ladies In Red a 6.5 metre winner in a time of 1.56.5 over 2650m, sitting in the death for the last lap and a half with sectionals of 30, 29.4, 26.9, 27.5. She is an outstanding filly with Clayton Tonkin stating that she is the best juvenile the stable has trained. Kabbalah Karen B has now left a Vic Derby Winner in Our Little General and a Vic Oaks Winner in Ladies In Red. Our Little General also won the 2 and 3 year old Breeders Crown and Ladies In Red won the Breeders Crown at 2 .
Beach Music ran a excellent third. She has been a big improver in her 3 year old year and both fillies will be major players in the Breeders Crown and Vicbred Series in November and December.
