Follow The Stars NZ ( Art Major - Smyrna Duruisseau USA ) won at his first 2 year old start in Auckland Nz for the Purdon/ Rasmussen barn on Friday Dec 13. He was purchased by Mark at the Melbourne APG Yearling Sale. He was sent ' first up' to Auckland for the $25,000 heat of the prestigious Young Guns Series. After having the run behind the leader he pulled out in the straight to finish impressively and with something in reserve. The mile rate was a fast 1.57.7 with closing splits of 57.4 and 27.9 . He will undoubtedly be improved by the hit out as he progresses to the final of The Young Guns.
Scottish Glamour made a welcome return to the winners list when she scored at Yarra Valley for Danny Thackeray and Chris Alford on Friday Dec 13. Beginning well from Barrier 1 she led all the way over the 2150 metres in a mile rate of 1.59.7 with closing sectionals of 28.8 and 27.8. One of our favourite mares Sandy is in foal to Rocknroll Heaven so her racing career is coming to an end.
